Lupus is a chron­ic autoim­mune dis­ease, which weak­ens the immune sys­tem. This makes it dif­fi­cult for the immune sys­tem to dis­tin­guish healthy tis­sues from non-healthy tis­sues. As a result, healthy tis­sues are attacked and many parts of the body can be seri­ous­ly dam­aged. The cause of lupus remains unknown and it is impor­tant this com­mu­ni­ty stays well informed at all times. Indi­vid­u­als and their fam­i­lies can be strong­ly affect­ed going through this trag­ic jour­ney. The Lupus Foun­da­tion of Amer­i­ca was cre­at­ed to give these indi­vid­u­als a space for sup­port, infor­ma­tion, and advo­ca­cy. In order to con­tribute to these indi­vid­u­als’ qual­i­ty of life, The Lupus Foun­da­tion of Amer­i­ca ensures to use the best pro­grams of research and learn­ing.

The Lupus Foun­da­tion of Amer­i­ca decid­ed to ini­ti­ate the nation­al “Walk To End Lupus Now” in order to bring this com­mu­ni­ty togeth­er and give oth­ers the oppor­tu­ni­ty to learn more about this dis­ease. On Sep­tem­ber 22nd the walk took place in Los Ange­les hav­ing spe­cial appear­ances by DJ Cori,(check out our inter­view with her HERE) Dion Jack­son, and Zum­ba Cra­zies. Atten­dees were able to have a mem­o­rable and ben­e­fi­cial expe­ri­ence through this walk with the pos­i­tive and enjoy­able atmos­phere brought by the indi­vid­u­als men­tioned above. Lupus con­tin­ues to be a mys­te­ri­ous dis­ease; there­fore it is impor­tant to con­tin­ue donat­ing to The Lupus Foun­da­tion of Amer­i­ca in order to help them obtain trust­wor­thy resources and find an end to lupus.
