On Sunday, the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles along with Michael Ellison-Lewis hosted the 4/29 Unity Event commemorating the 26th Anniversary of the 1992 Los Angeles Civil Unrest. The 4/29 Unity Event was significant and symbolic. The Korean and African-American communities were at the center of the conflict highlighted by the unrest. So, it is significant that these two ethnic communities hosted this event together as a symbol of progress and the unity that has been made over the last 26 years.
